Meta launching "Facebook Reels": New Income Opportunities for Creators

Social media is leaning towards short videos. Facebook also walked this path. Meta is launching the short video feature 'Reels' on Facebook in more than 150 countries. Meta's chief executive Mark Zuckerberg announced the addition of the fastest-growing feature on Tuesday.

Reels is our fastest growing content format, Meter CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. Today we are presenting it to Facebook users all over the world.

Facebook has this feature with creative tools that can be used to make remix videos and also to make reel videos from previous stories. "We're developing video clipping tools so users can upload live or long or pre-recorded videos," Zuckerberg said.

Meta launched the first reels video in the United States in 2020 and on Facebook in 2021 to compete with a Chinese company called BiteDance. For the first time in the service, the company sat motionless as it saw a decline in the graph of Facebook.
